Visually indistinguishable, transparent, colorless to very light pink brown, they occur as parallel intergrowths along anthophyllite (010) as fibrous aggregates and radiating sprays of prismatic crystals. The monoclinic forms (clinojimthompsonite, chesterite analog) occur as thin lamellae.
