Emplaced wonderfully in a shallow vug is a thin surface of sparkling, metallic, drusy crystals (or cleavages, more likely) of coloradoite, a rare mercury telluride, whose crystals give off a slight iridescent reddish hue. Intermixed with the coloradoite are sparkling darker metallic crystal cleavages of petzite, a silver, gold telluride, whose crystals emit a visible golden-silver color.
