Geological setting

granitic pegmatite associated with rodingite-like calc-silicate rocks and metasomatised granitic bodies exposed in a serpentinite quarry. Late-stage hydrothermal crystallisation of the Sc-enriched granitic pegmatite.

Type-locality form

A few compositionally zoned euhedral to subhedral separate crystals and intergrowths with REE-bearing clinozoisite and allanite-(Ce), reaching maximum 100 μm in size. (Poland) The epidote-supergroup minerals from the locality form grey, green, and brown well-developed transparent crystals and fan- or sheaf-like polycrystalline aggregates up to 10 mm large. Crystals examined show complex compositional zoning under SEM-EDS examination, reaching the heflikite composition only in some small domains. (Norway)
